this is that investigative shit from two weeks ago
but this does make him an unfortunate recruit into gathering information on the maou - being english, elizabeth has little to no knowledge. mika isn't, however, so he'll at least be a little bit of a help... at least there's plenty of chatter, as you might expect in a small town - even one like yamate, where both of them being visibly human is cause for either alarm or distrust, depending on who sees you...
she'll take him aside once they've done some preliminary walking around, leaning against an alleywall. ]
We've quite the promising set of leads, don't we. A puppeteer specializing in legends, a dumping ground of perhaps cursed items, and a cemetery of vengeful spirits... [ how much she believes in ghosts is obvious by her
actually never mind, this is elizabeth, no emotion betrays in her voice. ] I'm in favor of all three, to be honest - more so the legends and the cemetery. I believe those two hold the best chances of us discovering anything about the Maou and the circumstances behind them, should this ever have occurred in years prior.

[because.
he doesn't quite remember who this oshi-san person is, but he sure is lonely without them. they were important to him and that's about all he knows.]
In legends an' all, ghost're always the ones who're tellin' folk about important stuff, so maybe we oughta start there? Legends can be nothin' but stories, even if they've got a grain o'truth in 'em, but ghosts're forbidden to lie.
[probably.]

[ and maybe they can find a few old mourners or something who might know some stories. to the cemetery it is! she's at least done some preliminary scouting in yamate... she's a good detective, and she can hold her own.
mika, on the other hand, ]
...Just how have you been faring in this world thus far, Kagehira?
no subject
[and want to take advantage of that, essentially. the kagehira is comforting in a way, as is her way of speaking, but there's the lingering Fear of assassin school in his mind as well...]
I met a couple of nice people though! An' a couple of nice, um, not-people too? Like a cat that can talk, an' a koto that grows legs. Those're only the kinda things you'd be able to find in Japan's old folktakes, so it's pretty neat seein' 'em be real, even though that means that all the other bad tales are real too.

[ :'| go nuts, peace ]
we investigating too, bih
he'd need a partner and a place to start, though. and that's when mika comes into his field of vision. ]
You.
[ he just takes mika's wrist and pulls him aside. ]
There's not much time to explain, but as forest guardian, I need your help in something. The fate of the entire country rests on our shoulders right now.
[ prooooobably? sena's just as bad at talking to people as ever ]
