Yeah... It's a pain to take the train back an' forth from my hometown to school, so Oshi-san lets me stay with him and his family. My parents send money every month to cover me an' all, but I work a lot of part-time jobs to pay back anyway...

[Because he gets Nisaka's thing about repayment for kindness, he too believes whole-heartedly in that?? Hence the roommate situation too. He will make his own money so he's not a burden..!]

Oshi-san always scolds me about it, but I guess I'm kinda stubborn~.

[ another thoughtful hum from the more reticent boy, but he doesn't expand on it. he supposes this oshi-san isn't so bad after all, if he's willing to help out a friend like that.

[... My god, that is his usual, is that not horrifying. Mika digs into the candy Nisaka got him, yawning a little as he trots after like a dutiful pup... before remembering he should be the one leading since he's the person that has places to go and stepping up a bit.]

Yer worse, sayin' you don't need help when ya definitely need help. People ain't able to live on their own, so ya might as well take what ya can get!

[He's joking, jogging after the other boy with a laugh. It hasn't quite clicked with him that he's actually oddly comfortable around Nisaka, but it'll be fine when it does... Nisaka's pretty harmless as far as guys go.]

but he doesn't actually run away, his steps more brisk than anything else. easy enough for mika to catch up to him with a light jog.

[It's a nice wake up thing too. He quite likes the gummy treats in here, they are the best, and Mika pauses a moment before they actually exit the building to inhale. Exhale. Okay.

Okay, they can go now, he's steeled himself for the crowds. Let's see... where was that fabric store he saw wandering around before, this way..? Or that way? He'll just pick a direction and figure it out from there, come on, into the alleyways we go again.]

[ it's not hard to notice the way the other boy stalls, and it's definitely not difficult to notice the unique pathways mika's decided to take them down. nisaka finds his pace slowing, glancing at their surroundings in mild confusion.

after a moment, he looks to the back of mika's head, bluntly asking, ]

Are you trying to avoid someone?

[Mika flinches slightly, more at the sudden question than the content, and shakes his lowered head.]

No, I just don't like crowds... So I take paths that keep me away from 'em as much as I can. I get sorta dizzy if I ain't careful...

[... So it wasn't just for Nisaka's benefit when he did this last time.]

but hm hm. nisaka continues to look around, gradually picking up his leisurely pace. ]

It's not bad, [ he eventually says. he's okay with it. ] The quiet is nice.

[ he likes to avoid crowds when he can too. just to avoid standing out in them. ]

Ain't it~? Ya can find all kinds of neat things here too, things tossed away without a second thought~. Oshi-san collects abandoned dolls and fixes 'em up, gives 'em nice clothes and everything, so I usually pick 'em up when I see one too.

[Mika's gonna collect dolls at some point, just out of habit. Mark my words.]

It's easy to be forgotten when you're in a place like this. Even if someone sees ya, they don't wanna ask.

I guess of all places to go poking around old trash in, the planet that's obsessed with recycling and being clean is a good place for it.

People keep things for a reason, that's all it is~. Even somethin' that seems silly can be somethin' precious to someone else, so it's important to take care of 'em. Do you have anythin' like that, Nisa-kun?

[ nisaka holds the eye contact for maybe two seconds before he looks away. he seems to be considering mika's words at least, head tipping slightly. ]

[ there is an idle shrug of one shoulder. ]

Mm... [He turns his head forward again, scratching a cheek as he turns a corner into another alleyway.

Ah, this one's familiar to him.] But there's nothin' wrong with helpin' it last as long as it can, right? So y'should find somethin', anythin' that you wanna keep safe for a long time. Well, I say that, but it's not like I really have anythin' like that myself~.
