it's just a bunch of candy... literally all he knows of mika. but they're at least not the terribly cheap kind??? ]

[... Oh... Mika'll take the bag, peering inside it with an expression of glee, and lets it hang from his own wrist as he rubs the back of his head.]

Nn, it's okay~. I just would've felt bad if somethin' happened to ya like that... Are ya feelin' better today?

[ yes, good, if mika is willing to just gloss over all this, so is nisaka. let's not speak of this again.

though he will nod a little in answer to that. he supposes he owes the other boy that much at least. ]

[ it sounds like nisaka's refusing, especially when he's already turning towards the elevator, except he looks over his shoulder at the other after pressing the down button. ]

They're pretty easy and relaxin' to make, so sure, I can do that~. Dependin' on how long ya want it to be, it might take a few days, but the technique's the important part anyway.

nisaka just nods along, staring at the blinking numbers over the door, hands now slipped into his pockets. ]

[ out of the corner of his eye, nisaka watches the ofher carefully, looking thoughtful, though he doesn't really say anything. instead, he will shrug when a question is directed at him, idly leaning back against the cool elevator wall. ]

My mom did that kind of stuff for us back home, [ he explains quietly. ] She never really had time to teach me or my brother.

[ there is a pause, though, as it suddenly occurs to him that that may not be the most reassuring thing to say. ]

...I can be a good student, though.

Even if ya weren't, it ain't hard to do... just to master, guess ya could say. I always mess up here and there even now, and I've been doin' it for just about two years~.

[... He is also actually better than he puts himself down as, he just has a perfectionist as a teacher.]

Are ya the older or younger brother?

[ nisaka kind of Figures, given everything else he knows of the other boy. he's taken to being self-deprecating at times too, okay. he knows what it sounds like.

that said, hm. they're suddenly branching off into personal information territory here.. nisaka shifts a little, antsy, watching the numbers light up with a little more attention. ]

W~ow, that's pretty amazin'~. I haven't thought about anythin' like that myself, even if I'm a second year already... Well, I still have time, and if it doesn't include Valkyrie or Oshi-san then I ain't interested anyway.

Mika rocks on his heels idly, watching the numbers too. Even if he's shy, he's also rather shameless... So he doesn't mind babbling about his favorite person.]

I'm an only child, but Oshi-san's got a big brother and a big sister, so it's kinda like they're mine too. They're nice to me even if I'm just takin' up space.

[ a slight ping goes off in the back of nisaka's head as he listens to the other boy speak. a second year. the thought turns over in his head. a senpai.

his head lolls to the side as mika drops a new name he hadn't heard before, but by now "oshi-san" is definitely ingrained itself into his head. he makes a low, thoughtful sound after mika speaks, which just so happens to be when the door slides open for the bottom floor. he starts out first. ]

Do you stay with them?

[ his tone it light, casual. ]

Yeah... It's a pain to take the train back an' forth from my hometown to school, so Oshi-san lets me stay with him and his family. My parents send money every month to cover me an' all, but I work a lot of part-time jobs to pay back anyway...

[Because he gets Nisaka's thing about repayment for kindness, he too believes whole-heartedly in that?? Hence the roommate situation too. He will make his own money so he's not a burden..!]

Oshi-san always scolds me about it, but I guess I'm kinda stubborn~.

[ another thoughtful hum from the more reticent boy, but he doesn't expand on it. he supposes this oshi-san isn't so bad after all, if he's willing to help out a friend like that.

in any case, nisaka adopts a tone of total and complete surprise.

and by surprise i mean utter deadpan. ]

[... My god, that is his usual, is that not horrifying. Mika digs into the candy Nisaka got him, yawning a little as he trots after like a dutiful pup... before remembering he should be the one leading since he's the person that has places to go and stepping up a bit.]

Yer worse, sayin' you don't need help when ya definitely need help. People ain't able to live on their own, so ya might as well take what ya can get!

[ it's a weird way to phrase it, so nisaka is prompted to arch a brow at the other as he falls into step. ]

[ he shakes his head, dismissing the question. it's clearly not his point, even though he brought it up. the real point here is: ]

Don't sell yourself so short. Any person would have been lucky to have someone like you help them.

[ that is to say, he was lucky...... in a roundabout way. ]

[He just means it's better to depend on others if you need to...... also that's so nice to say, Nisaka?? It's actually making Mika sort of squint his mismatched eyes at him.]
